Annabelle’s Place : The English High-Tea
It is not a common cafe, it is for high-tea diners, it is Annabelle’s Place. It provides English cuisines where you can find various pastries which are suitable for high-tea.

The cafe looked quite spacious. It is English-style decorated, just like the houses in European. It gave me a sense of warmness and cozyness which is perfect for high-tea.

Once I entered the cafe, I found these beautiful flowers which enlighten the whole English concept.

Credit cards are accepted here. FoodMice Vanilla member will get priviledge discount here!

The cute farmer doing his job welcoming customers everyday.

The menu which you can browse for a wide variety of English cuisines.

I was offered the Windsor Tea For Two. This is my English Breakfast Tea, with the brand of Ahmad Tea in London. Ahmad went to London to plant the tea? Funny!
It came with large pot with two cups. If you want to taste the tea, I would recommend you not to add the milk. However, milk is good if you wan to have a thicker texture or taste.

There were slices of fruits, cookies, scones with Devonshire clotted cream and strawberry jam, cakes and finger sandwiches. Overall they were not bad. I think it is enough for 3 people as high-tea does not meant for filling hunger right?

Last but not the least, the cutlery for high-tea. Small but not light, because they are made of stainless steel.

If you want to have high-tea here, make sure you bring along the GPS. Annabelle’s Place is situated nearby a Tanjung Bungah new residential area. It is not easy to reach there especially for people who are not familiar with the place. It actually took me sometime to get to this place as I nearly lost in the residential area. Oh ya, somewhere near Tunku Abdul Rahman College.

Roadhouse Grill Restaurant : Cowboy is in the town!
Gurney has cowboy? Yes, it was none other than the Roadhouse Grill Restaurant. Situating in Gurney Resort and Hotel, Roadhouse Grill Restaurant is serving western cuisine and liquors. If you are sick of those western food in the shopping malls, drop by Roadhouse Grill Restaurant. You will definitely find a totally different western food in different environment.

Roadhouse Grill Restaurant welcome the customers with these. How cute they are! With the Christmas hat, creative one.

Check their menu!

Found this antique in the restaurant. Roadhouse Grill provides their customers with handphone chargers. A variety of chargers can be found here just like a variety of their food.

The peanuts shells were everywhere. They did not sweep the floor? Yea, they did it on purpose. That’s how the customers get to feel the US and cowboy here. But be careful, running is highly prohibited when you come to such restaurant because you might fall down, those shells made the floor slippery.
Cowboy cowboy here they come! I found lots of cowboys here! But in the pictures only.

I do not know whether these wines are for serving customers or just for decoration. But it did look nice by placing them like this. Besides, the caps were fantastic, they even have the Roadhouse cap. I found out one special side of this Roadhouse. They have the magazines for you to kill the time and they prepare the reading glass just in case you forgot to bring yours. It is such a considerate Roadhouse.

The lamp lighted up the whole dimmed restaurant.

I ordered the Mango Lassie Mocktail. Maybe it does not looked tall in the photo, but I can tell you that the bottle was real damn tall! A real big bottle. This perhaps could be the tallest drink that I ever had. I love Mango and this mocktail did satisfy me.
Roadhouse Grill Restaurant had a special menu which was Bangers & Mash with free flow of softdrink. Yes, it was free flow. Totally FREE. As seen above is the Sarsi softdrink. There were two long and big grilled German sausages. The sausages were fresh.

A must-order Roadhouse Burger which is only available in Roadhouse Grill Restaurant Gurney. It was tall, taller than the BigMac! A piece of cheese was added at RM 1.00. With the cheese, the burger tasted pretty good! This burger came with the french fries, which were bold one. A big plate like that could easily fit the hungry stomach.

This is seafood pizza which belongs to the thinner kind. It was as harden as biscuit, not so crunchy. However, it was cheesssssyyyyyyy!
Each customer will be getting a tissue box like this. It was pretty cool and I realised that there is a VIP card hidden given together with the tissue box. Want to know more? Find out yourself!

Oh ya! To all Paulaner outside, Paulaner is available here at only RM 22.50. It is cheaper than other bistro or cafe! Come and get your Paulaner here!

Thanks a lot to Roadhouse Grill Restaurant for the hearty meal. I really enjoyed an awesome Cowboy dinner here. It is highly recommended to all western food lovers and alcohol drinkers.

Spring Chamber : The X’mas Fine Dining
Spring Chamber a.k.a The Sun is located at the long Macalister Road. When you move along the road, look out for the SUN YAT-SEN CENTRE. The restaurant is hiding behind. It is a fine dining place for couples, friends and family. Although Sun Yat-Sen Centre will lead your mind to Chinese cuisine, The Sun provides Western food. You will never find any Chinese dishes here.
Spring Chamber is currently serving set lunch at RM 28 nett. Comparing to other restaurants or hotels, this is an affordable price where hungry stomach will be filled. The set lunch includes an appetizer (Soup or Salad), main course (6 varieties), dessert (Cheese or Chocolate Cake) and drink. It is certainly more than enough.
Look at the menu, 5% of revenue will be contributed to Sun Yat-Sen Centre? It means you are actually helping to support the centre by dining here. Penang needs this kind of fund and it is pretty amazing!
The Sun is segmented into 3 sections namely Spring, Autumn and Summer. Too bad they do not have Winter.
Spring Chamber is the fine dining restaurant, where I was having my lunch there. Spring Chamber has quite a peaceful environment which is essential for fine dining.

Autumn Lounge is some kind of high-tea section. The Lounge looks quite elegant.

Summer Court is for chit-chat session. Liquors and some snacks will be serving here too. There is no air-cond here because it is SUMMER!

A welcome drink will be served to each customer upon arrival. It is a small portion of Sparkling juice. The texture was rich.
While having the meal, the customer will be served either cold or hot drinking water, up to your choice. Don’t worry if the water is not enough, because the waiter will keep refilling for you.
Remember the choices of drinks are at the bottom last of the menu? It is because those drinks will come with the desserts. I like the Ice Peach Tea, strong smell of peach. The Lemon Ice Tea was not bad, slightly different from others which suit my tongue.

The appetizer was Pumpkin Soup. Love the Pumpkin Soup to the max! I wonder how many pumpkins were they using for the soup. From the texture I can tell that A LOT of pumpkins!
A large portion of Pan Seared Salmon. Those with small stomach cannot really finish the whole plate. It was a little oily but the Salmon was fresh.
Grilled Lamb loin rosemary sauce. I think it was 70% cooked. Yet it was quite chewy. Three big lamb pieces were too many! The sauce was pretty good when it came with the lamb.

For the desserts, Chocolate Opera Cake and Baked Cheese Cake. Overall, they were sweet, but not too sweet.

Compliment to the waiters. They kept noticing at the customers if the drinking water finish and they will keep refilling for you. Meanwhile, a waiter will go round the restaurant and ask for feedback from the customers. They were patient and be ready anytime for the customers.
Before stepping into the toilet, I found out these. The toilet signs for male and female. I will never find such opera characters in other places.
Will i recommend The Sun to you? Yes, sure! Consider Spring Chamber if you need a candle light fine dining for Christmas or New Year dinner.
